I understand that Adaware is sparing of system resources, but if I'm running one of my very CPU intensive applications, and want to have as many system resources operating on my project, short of just exiting from Adaware and closing it down, can I do anything to stop Adaware from loading at startup. And if I stop Adaware from running by ending the service after bootup, I notice that the Adaware Service still seems to be running if I look at MSCONFIG. So my hope is that I will be able to set some switchs in the program which will suspend its operation until I want to allow it to load once again. Any perspectives on this probem would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Ad-Watch settings and uncheck any modules (processes, registry, network). The Ad-Aware service will not load at next reboot. Then right-click the tray icon and exit Ad-Aware, this will stop the service in your current session without rebooting.
In task manager, when Ad-Aware is running, you will see AAWService and AAWTray in the processes.
