Kalor
Hi,
I'm trying to download and run adaware to recover an infected laptop (Toshiba 1.86G with 2.49 G RAM running XP SP3). but it will not unbundle. I have tried to follow the actions here: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=13639 [your sysrestore and registry requirements] but cannot do this; keep getting administrator errors.

OS will not progress beyond desktop unless switched to safe mode; in normal boot -config will not open - task manager has 100% CPU usage with 30-50 processes running - nothing obviously wrong no single process eating all bites but evne opening task manager takes 4-5 minutes. MBAM and HJT have been run and logs generated. Regitry editor and defrag run in safe mode; all unwanted programs removed - maybe some rubbish in registry still unsure.gif All other AV software will not run or exe properly. COMODO was on system when event occurred but will not update and run properly; ADAware;'zilla. Cannot run windows live scan either.

Any assistance gratefully received. Can follow instructions but please no TLA or FLAs; user not a techie biggrin.gif
