Hello,

I have downloaded AdAware AE and tried installing but keep getting this error message:
"A network error occured while attempting to read from the file:
...\Temp\mia1\WISDED53B0BB67C4244AE6AD6FD3C28D1EF_7_0_2_3.MSI"

Please advise me hoe to get around this.

Many thanks

It usually helps to give the complete pathway, but:

If you executed the installer directly from the browser download, try saving it to disk before installing.

If you saved it to disk first, try executing directly from the browser download.

I know it sounds crazy, but there have been posts here where it worked both ways, LOL.

I spent a great deal of time trying to install AdAwareAE...seems AdAware 2007 refused to go away. Couldn't load up the new one. I had to download the REVO uninstaller (just search for it) and then delete 167 items! It worked, though. I highly recommend it.

Glad Revo worked smile.gif I recommend it here too!

Since this issue appears to be resolved I will close for now, if you need it reopening then PM myself or any moderator.

I reopened since the original poster OscarGrouch has not returned since posting - MizLiz was just offering her suggestion to OscarGrouch.

- Casey_boy: Lol, my mistake smile.gif thanks visitor

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately when I tried this but it did not make any difference. An identical error message appeared. I have previously installed this program om my PC (Vista) and another laptop (XP) and all went smoothly, so I'm not sure what is going on!

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded and installed REVO as you suggested and it produced a list of installed programs. AdAware 2007 was not on the list - I'm not sure if it was ever installed on this particular laptop in the first place! I couldn't see anything obvious that might be causing a problem. So back to square one! Thanks anyway.

Looks like MizLiz was on the right track. I just found a post where using Revo Uninstaller worked:
