I am using Windows XP, and last week my laptop has got infected with windows antivirus pro & windows police pro. This was very annoying and it opens up every now and then, with scan and says your computer is infected.
I found some information on internet and could remove the desote.exe and all other files. The one problem now is I can't open any application except my lotus notes emails which is still working. Problem is evrytime I try to open something, it asks me to 'choose the program you want to use to open this file', but couldn't get past this thing.
I understood after browsing several websites that, the windows registry is messed up. I am not able to open 'regedit' in run command. Could you please help how to resolve this problem.
