In 2003 or 2004 I paid for what I was told was a lifetime subscription to AdAware. When ayear or two later I lost my key code I was sent an email with the appropriate information. Now, having lost the code again, I receive no reply from Lavasoft. Can someone tell me how to retrieve the code?

"Lifetime" refers to the software's life, not the user's. Since it was 5-6 yrs ago, you must have had Ad-aware SE which has reached EOL - definition updates stopped March 30. You'll have to upgrade to Ad-aware AE.

You can upgrade to Plus with a purchase from aLavasoft partner, but you might want to wait - later this month they're releasing a new Free version which includes anti-virus currently only available with Plus or Pro.
