Full Version: "Failed to connect to service"

Greetings,
I keep getting the "Failed to connect to service" when I try to run AdAware AE. I have tried all of the recommended steps in the pinned Forum messages. I have also removed it using the recommended program and reinstalled AE. That too did not help. Is there anything else I can do? It removed my older version of AdAware and I can't find any previous version on the net.
I'd appreciate any help or ideas.

You might be infected with something which keeps Ad-aware from running. Any other security software having problems? If nothing else, maybe wait until the new version is released later this month and try again.

I have done a very through check for any malware and I am clean. Seems like many others have had a similar problem. I guess my only recourse is to wait for an update.
