Apparently you've never heard of tracking cookies?
I have. Tracking cookies are not actually classed as malware, but the option to remove is for the user's privacy. Using the amount of cookies found is not a good indication of the programs quality. Also, as in the link visitor gives you, all the modern browsers now offer a way to stop these cookies being stored on your computer anyway.

I am not here to hawk another program so am deliberately not mentioning it.
It's ok to mention it

I was just curious to see what program was finding all the malware which Ad-Aware wasn't.
QUOTE
I merely want to know if my adaware is working properly when it finds nothing over a 3 month period and another program does.
I would say that it depends purely on what the other program is finding. If it is just cookies then I wouldn't worry too much and just use the browser features to block them. If it was something more serious, then I would ask you to help Lavasoft improve their detection database by uploading the file (details
here or use ThreatWork).

Can you answer this constructively or do you just want to parent me about the use of a computer? If the latter, please don't repond to my post.
I'm sorry you felt as though I was 'parenting' you - this was not my intention at all. I was merely trying to say that, with the right computer security attitude (which you obviously have) you shouldn't necessarily find any malware.
