Hi all. Sorry for a poor introduction. Necessity is the mother of posting on support forums.

I have been using Lavasoft products for a while. Yesterday my PC locked up and every single program I clicked on said "you don't have permission to run this file...etc etc". It wouldn't even let me turn my pc off. I used System Mechanic to fix my pc but I still can't run my Ad-Aware. I keep getting the "You don't have the appropriate permissions to run this file" pop up.

Can anyone tell me what I can do? I uninstalled AE and re-downloaded it but it didn't work.

As long as you're logged in as Administrator, I don't think you should get that message. It sounds like you're infected. Read the instructions in my signature about posting a log in the HijackThis forum. Copy/paste or link to this thread to describe the problem, and somebody there can help you with malware removal.
