I purchased a copy of Adaware, and I can't start it because the registration number I have is incorrect. I have been trying to get through to Lavasoft for two weeks, and I can't get through because (1) no one responds to my emails, and (2) there is no telephone number.

HOW DO YOU GET THROUGH TO SOMEONE AT LAVASOFT?

Hi,

You need to log into the support center (link in my signature) and send of a support request.

Should you not get any reply within a couple of days, or you have already waiting this length of time; check you junk email folder and then post here and I'll try and get someone to help you.

I will try to use your link. I have been emailing the address 'support@adwareprofessional.com' for weeks, per the suggestion of CLKBank.com - the organization that does the billing for Lavasoft. I have tried several other email addresses as well.

No phone number AT ALL for Lavasoft?

Pathetic.

Also, I wish that Lavasoft would stop insulting my intelligence by asking me to check my junk email folders.

I cannot log into the support center because I am not registered. I am not registered because Lavasoft never sent me a registration number.

And I can't get through to Lavasoft.

Still. - I have been trying to get through to Lavasoft for more than 2 weeks.

There should be a punitive damage.

Ok contacting through that address wont work.

If you haven't registered you can do so here: http://lavasoft.com/support/supportcenter/...egistration.php

We just ask you check your junk because sometimes, believe it or not, it happens!

If that email address doesn't work, then I would advise you to inform CLKBank.com what the correct email address is. They are the only ones that I could get a hold of, since Lavasoft has not emailed me once upon my purchase. CLKBank was the organization that appeared on my credit card bill, and they must be giving me an email that is not being seen by anyone at Lavasoft.

.....OK - I just got to the page that you linked me to, but it says that this is NOT for people that purchased the product on-line, which is me.

It asks for a key, or a code from the box at the bottom, and I don't have that. I purchased the product on line, not at a store.

Sorry I thought you had a licence just not registered. I'll post to Lavasoft for you.

I purchased Adaware professional from Lavasoft in the amount of $36.95 on August 4th. I have yet to be able to use it. Are you saying that,

(1) You need the software,
(2) You need a 'license.' (?)

and

(3) You need to register first?

I hope this 'license' doesn't cost anything......
casey_boy
No when you purchase you should get an email confirmation with a licence code in it. You then use this code to activate Ad-Aware. smile.gif

Do you have an email where I can contact the maker of Ad-Aware?

By the way - I just found out, that despite the fact that I have 'Ad-aware' professional downloaded on my computer, I was billed for Adware Professional on my credit card. I just requested a reimbursement.

You just confirmed my suspicions that you did not buy it from the Lavasoft website. I recently discussed an old link somebody posted to a 3rd party vendor, and a Lavasoft rep told me all sales are now done through Lavasoft's online store, which redirects to a shopping cart on https://lavasoft.cleverbridge.com (registered in Germany).

I think you were scammed. I did some whois searching:

adwareprofessional.com - domain registered to Domains By Proxy, Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ.

CLKBank.com aka clickbank.com - both domains registered to Click Sales, Inc. in Boise, ID.

I searched clickbank's store and there were no results for Lavasoft or Ad-aware. Confirming your order details, you probably bought a "counterfeit" product. If this happened, it becomes an issue between CLKBank and your credit card company. Lavasoft would only get involved if they pursue a counterfeit claim, but this is probably only doable if the site used the Lavasoft or Ad-aware name since "adware" is a generic term.
