When navigating to the Lavasoft folder in START (Programs) and clicking the "Lavasoft Homepage" icon in the expanded drop-down window, I receive the following error (popup):

"There was a problem sending the command to the program"

That's annoying as all get out; I'm NOT going to even get into it how annoying it is, i.e., quantify the degree (or level of annoyance). It just IS annoying.

Could you right click the icon and check the properties for me? Does it link to lavasoft.com?

If not, you can delete that shortcut and create your own to lavasoft.com

Casey

P.S. Which browser are you using?

Hmmm, my shortcut works OK - C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\Lavasoft Homepage - it points to lavasoft.com and opens my default browser. Have you tried creating/clicking on any other internet shortcuts and checking your default browser?

AH HAH!

I fingered it out.

It was an issue with Zone Alarm. Apparently Windows Explorer needs access to the internet.

Two entries should be put into the "trusted zone":

0.0.0.0 & 127.0.0.1 (label as "localhost")

Then configure Windows Explorer to have access to the trusted zone, and deny internet access and any server functionality.

Works good, lasts long time.
