After running an update to anniversary edition, it will say "reinitializing components", lavasoft AE then shuts down, but doesn't restart.

This has been this way for quite awhile now. I searched thinking that others were having this problem, but couldn't find anything.

Let me know what is the cause and how to fix it.

Of course, I can manually restart AE after updates, but it just seems it should do that itself, when it says it's going to.

Yup, this is a known 'issue'. Originally Ad-Aware GUI would restart, but then the developers changed this behaviour. I complained and they're gonna change it back smile.gif (it has been changed back in the new Ad-Aware beta which is due out shortly).

Hello, mmlphoto:

I, too, am having this same problem, on some systems. Ad-Aware is set to automatically update, itself, and when it does, while it does update, the Ad-Aware icon does not re-appear in the system tray and a system reboot is necessary, in order to get Ad-Aware to re-appear in the system tray. I have also been experiencing this particular issue for quite some time.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and, if so, have you been successful in overcoming it? Thanks for any assistance anyone may be able to provide.

Clicking on a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\Ad-Aware.exe to restart Ad-aware should start the tray icon without needing to reboot?
