How do you check and put IE in online mode to fix updater problem???
visitor
Open IE, then click File > Work Offline (this should be unchecked)

OK my IE is in online mode and still unable to update and none of the fixes or virus tips do any good. Will there possibly be a new exe we could download to fix the problem or are we still lost as to what it could be?

By fixes, you mean you tried the workarounds in this post? Not sure which virus tips you're referring too - we recommend anyone who suspects they're infected post in the HijackThis forum (instructions in my signature). Some malware interferes with Ad-aware's functionality, so you must be sure your system is clean before concluding the program is faulty.

If you've tried all of the above, IIRC, the update problem was only with the Web Update button in the GUI and updating through Start Menu Programs still works. Let me know how you get along with this. If all else fails, Lavasoft is schedule to release a new version later this month and hopefully it will be problem-free smile.gif

I tied all the fixes. Have a clean system, and I can't update from anywhere.

P.S. Version 8.0.7

8.0.7 is the latest version, and I'm guessing the last one since the new version of Ad-aware is now due out in early Sept. You can still update definitions manually. Click on the FAQ link in my signature and you'll find the instructions under Anniversary Edition.
