First, thank you for taking the time to read this and any help that you may be able to give me.

Symptoms: Unable to access spybot, unable to access many antivirus websites(Even after clearing the hosts folder) Nero no longer will burn, although IMGBurner will. More svchost.exe running than previously. First odd programs I noticed were c, d, and e.exe which I was able to remove. System Restore no longer works. Unable to install Hijackthis

Steps I have taken: Ran a bootable anti-virus program, DR. Web. Ran A smart and full scan with Ad-Aware and I have Ran a scan in Safe mode.

Results: Running the Bootable cd allowed me access to this site however I am still blocked from many other sites and it took alot of searching to even be able to get the ISO Image for the bootable cd in the first place.

I would post a HJT log, however when I go to install it, it just gets hung up in the task manager and doesn't do anything.

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try renaming the HJT installer to myhjt.exe. If it still won't work, read the instructions in my signature about posting in the HijackThis forum. Copy/paste or link to this thread to describe the problem, and somebody there can help you.

This appears to be a possible CLB Rootkit infection which will not let you run security tools.

Like visitor said, post this in a topic in the HijackThis forum, and we will help you remove this rootkit.
