I've tried multiple times to get rid of the Win32TrojanTdss malware using Ad-Aware, but have not had any success. In fact, it's gotten worse since I've tried. At this point, I can't run Ad-Aware, can't get any web browsers to work (Firefox, Chrome, IE), and get a bunch of unprompted "your computer is infected" type pop-ups, including hijacking my background.
If I start in Safe Mode, I am able to run Ad-Aware, but it doesn't solve the problem.
I would normally post my Ad-Aware scan log, but I can't get online from my computer to post it (I'm on another computer now).
I will try to get my log posted while I wait for any response/suggestion on how to start getting rid of this virus. Thanks.
EDIT: I am now able to get online using my infected computer, but when I try to open my scan log, I get the pop-up quote-box from my system tray saying "WARNING! Application cannot be executed. The file notepad.exe is infected. Please activate your antivirus software."
There is also a "System Security Warning" that keeps popping up, with a black and gold striped shield icon. I am not sure if this is real or not, but I've never seen it before, so I assume it's part of the spyware/malware.
