So many factors in play. For reference, it takes about 2-1/2 hrs to full scan my 80gb HD (275,000-295,000 items) with scan settings set to the default, skip files larger than 20480kb (20mb).
You can try a few things:
1. If you have a lot of mp3 files, try skipping files larger than, say, 10240kb (10mb) or 5120kb (5mb).
2. Setup Profile Scans for each drive individually. I think Default is set for C:, so I set up another for D:. This will allow you to see which drive is taking so long, and you can narrow it down from there by selecting specific folders.
3. By setting up individual Profile Scans, you can run the different scans as time permits. If I know I'll need my computer, I'll run the C: scan only (less than 1 hr) and run D: scan later (over 1 hr).
Thanks for the info, and I'll try that. I still can't figure out why it took so much longer AFTER I updated to Anniversary Edition. Before, it took half the amount of time!
