I noticed 149.00 def file's about 1mb smaller than 148.67. Has anyone else noticed fewer items scanned?

Smart Scan
148.67: 23862 items scanned
149.00: 5972 items scanned
Total: 17890 fewer items

Full Scan
148.62: 294572 items scanned
149.00: 275731 items scanned
Total: 18841 fewer items

I've only run a Smart Scan with the lastest 149.01, but similar results 6054 items scanned.
No changes to my system other than AVG and Windows Defender updates.
Only updated AE defs - still running version 8.0.3 with no change in the settings.

I thought definitions only changed the signatures AE's looking for, not where it's looking?

I noticed that it is scanning fewer items. I also noticed on the full scan the numbers went back to zero about five minutes in. I am going to see if there is the same difference this week when I run my scan.

I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. I am getting alot less things scanned. I am confused.

I haven't noticed the full scan counter reset after 5 min, but as I said in my 1st post, it seems to be the registry scan. I set up a profile scan of the registry only:

148.67 17803 items scanned
149.03 only 21 items scanned

I'm assuming nobody has noticed or doesn't care - this post has had 84 views and only 2 replying. No feedback from Lavasoft yet. What worries me is if this affects the real-time registry protection since I've decided to go with Ad-Aware instead of Spybot's TeaTimer.

Here's Lavasoft feedback:

QUOTE(LS Sebastian @ Jul 21 2009, 05:19 AM)
Most of the registry scan has been moved to the Critical-Objects-Scan.
The reason for an overall decrease of scanned objects is that the registry-scan contained some duplicates which now have been removed, or moved to the critical objects-scan.
