Recently, my Ad-Watch has starting loggin events constantly--at a rate of several per second. They are all the same type of event: "Registry Modification Detected." Is it possible that some program is contnually trying to modify the registry and that Ad-Watch is picking up on that. Are there other possible explanations? If I can't find a way to stop this, I'm going to have to unload Ad-Watch (the constant blinking is unnerving). Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

Could you post some samples of the events please? On the ad-watch icon on the system tray right mouse click and select "Restore Ad-Watch", if the tools & preferences menu is displayed press the events button, in the event log right mouse click and select "detailed event-log" then right mouse click again and select export event-log. Save the log e.g. as events.txt then navigate to the folder you saved the file to (it defaults to the installation folder under c:\program files\lavasoft\ad-aware.... double mouse click on the events.txt file to open in notepad and then cut and paste a sample of the events into a reply to this thread.

Each time I activate Ad-Watch it takes many minutes before I can use my computer.

Seems like ad-watch has gotten confused and forgotten everything. Now it assumes that anything different than nothing at all is a change. Also, you have it set on automatic mode, so it doesn't prompt you.

A clean re-install would likely clear this up.

I've had this problem too, the way I want about solving it was simple, just de-activate Ad-watch, then activate it again, you shouldhave no trouble in future.

The best way I've found around this (I've only had the problem twice) is to de-activate Adwatch, then to restart the computer. After that I've had no problems. Once the computer starts again, Adwatch should initialise as normal anf you should also be rid of those annoying event logs, failing that, see if you can't get an upgrade.
