I have the triangle with the exclamation point on the taskbar. I have read other topics on this subject and have tried all remedies I can find. Nothing has worked for me so far. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone got ANY ideas?

Ok, lets start with your OS and service pack, other security software installed.

Then the triangle with exclamation point is also used if an Ad-Aware scan finds any threats on your computer, so do you know if it is Ad-Watch that needs reinitializing or has a scan found threats?

Thanks....WinXP Pro SP2. So I guess I need to install SP3. But the software is telling me to restart the pc to finalize installation of AdWatch Live.

Hmmm... you don't need to install SP3 just for Ad-Aware, SP2 should be supported. (Although, it might be worth installing SP3 anyway for different reasons.)

If you do decide to install SP3, uninstall Ad-Aware first. Then when your system is updated, reinstall.

I didnt want to be in a hurry to install SP3. Is there something else that can be an issue? I am at wits end. I dont have any other software running when I install AAE (AdAware AE).
I have installed it on all my other pc's with no problem (6 all together). This is the only one that creates a problem.

Just a little something to consider..... I did go ahead and up to SP3. Reinstalled AdAware and all is well now. Thanks for all the help.

No problem. I guess we didn't really help it solved itself! I think there was probably something corrupt with your Windows install so when you updated your service pack it was sorted.

I'll close this topic now, if you need it reopening then PM any moderator.
