I just installed Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition today and ran a full scan. It found only cookies and one instance of Win32.Trojanspy.Banker in C:\Program Files\DVD InfoPro\dvdinfopro.dll

I downloaded and installed DVD InfoPro back in December, 2007 (I always scan downloaded programs with an anti-virus program before installing and nothing was detected.) I don't understand how a trojan could get in that file? I have a good firewall and have not noticed any unusual activity. Please check the file and tell me if it's a False Positive or the real trojan? I'm attempting to follow your "Guide for posting false positives" and hope to do it correctly.

Hmmm You might mention in the Guide where to find a quarantined file. I restored it, made a zipped copy, and then renamed the restored file. After uploading the zipped file, I deleted it and then deleted it from the Recycle Bin. If there's a better way, tell me. By the way, I also still have the original downloaded DVD InfoPro zipped program file which I guess is harmless?

Thank you.

Hi Ticky Ticky!

Tank you for posting and for following our Guide for posting false positives smile.gif

The file (dvdinfopro.dll, version 1.9.10.26. MD5: d6c5e93d8e4a6378335f904d0b3825ac) was falsely detected and it will therefore be removed from detection as of the upcoming definition file update (0148.0040).

The dvdinfopro.dll file in the current version of DVD InfoPro (version 6.121) is not in detection.

The files quarantined by Ad-Aware are encrypted for safety reasons and the best way to deal with the quarantining/restoring of detected files is described at http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=19729
