ok, so i have read through all the "wont run" topics and have tried everything they suggest. I have come to realize that this computer does not want to run Ad-Aware anymore, LoL. I have uninstalled, and removed all entries in the registry that have ANY thing to do with Lavasoft, and yes that includes ALL older versions of the software. After doing the reinstall and trying to run it the loading screen comes up and then goes away. After looking in the event viewer, under application, i get a error that says the following:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service
Event Category: None
Event ID: 0
Date: 5/24/2009
Time: 6:29:44 PM
User: N/A
Computer: *(my computer name)*
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Could not upgrade process privileges to SE_DEBUG_NAME.

I have looked in the services and notice that the service is not even listed in there??????? I have tried to load and unload in both safe mode and normal mode and get nothing either way......... sad.gif

Anyone have any more suggestions????????????

Hi,

Could you navigate to: C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware and see if the file AAWService is there. If it is, then right click on it and choose "run as administrator"

Then try and open the Ad-Aware program.

No good. I am logged on to the computer as administrator to take away any chances of a corupted user profile having an impact.

I am open for suggestions.....
