I have only run a full system scan twice, and both time the "submit files to threatwork" window has poped up. When I send files, am I sending the actual file, or am I sending a copy of the file?

A copy smile.gif

Threatwork copies the files it wants to send to a folder within the program's folders and then uploads them. When it has successfully uploaded, then the copies are deleted.

The original files themselves are never touched -except to copy.

I am new to this forum so I apologize if I post in the wrong area. I am getting a window popping up with every scan I run. It wants to submit a file to threatwork.
C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\All Users\LavaSoft\Ad-Aware\threatWork\Submit\Symdlmgr\dll
How do I fix this? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi nadadime - generally you want to start your own topic in the forum so your problem can be addressed individually and closed when the problem is solved.

If you don't want the pop up to send files to ThreatWork, in the AE GUI click on Main/Settings/Updates/ThreatWork Settings and choose "Do not send files to ThreatWork."

If you think the file detected is a false positive, go to False Positives - Ad-Aware. Read the pinned topics Extended Engine Heuristics and Guide for posting false postives. Try scanning without heuristics (option found in Settings/Scanning and Ad-Watch Live!). If you still think it is a false positive, open a new topic. Copy/paste the AE log and attach a zipped archive of the file. If it is confirmed a false positive, they will correct it in a definition update.

I thank you for your quick and informative reply.

Since both issues are resolved, I'll close this thread. If you need it reopened, PM me or casey_boy.
