I have loaded the Helix trial to try and decide if I keep Helix, Ad-Aware or both.

Can I download the updates for Helix and hence choose when it updates?

I find programs that need updates tend to update the program just when I am trying to do something else, hence I try to turn off automatic updates and update the program when it's convenient to me.

Thanks,

David.

Yes, you can.

Under the Administration tab you would want to deactivate any automatic updates listed in the Scheduler section. Then at the top under *Updates* there is selection for manual update you could use.

You can also choose under scheduler to update automatically but at whatever interval you choose (so you could select for example, only once a day).

Thank you for the post, where can I download the update file from?

David.

It will contact the download server and download it for you. In fact, looking at the program again, whenever I have manually downloaded updates I used the *Start Product Update* so will look for programs updates and definition updates and if any available it will download and install them. If you use the Manual update button, you will need to know what to name the file and where to put it and that I can't tell you which is correct. It's much easier just to push the update manually via the "Start Product Update". The product manual explains updates a bit and they advise using that button.

You can find the product manual here:

There is a link to the PDF file on that page.

Thank you for the reply, I have looked at the PDF file and it does not give me the URL from which I can download the VDF file to update Helix 'off line'.

David.
