I manually downloaded the 0148.0001 definitions file, put it in the folder I was instructed to, and unzipped it, etc. The program recognizes the update and lists the file I got, but still says "Update recommended." Does this mean I'm good to go or do I need to prod the program somehow to use the new defs?

I'd just click the update button to double check and keep it happy. I'm sure you're ok though, but it's best to be safe
