Up until a few days ago I was using Ad-Aware (free) and AVG 8 (paid for).

After a problem with AVG running slow, I was advised by AVG technical to remove both AVG & Ad-Aware, then re-install AVG.

Removing both programs sorted out the problem.

I have now re-installed Ad-Aware & Lavasoft Helix.

Helix found 2 virii that AVG did not find, the last time I ran AVG it took over 17 hours and did not complete, Helix took 45 minutes.

My question, should I continue with Ad-Aware & Helix, or should I use Ad-Aware pro? How good is the anti virus in Ad-Aware pro compaired to Helix.

I would suggest...
disable the Anti-Virus engine in Ad-Aware and
use Helix for your AV protection.
A stand-alone scanner is more effective, as far as I can see.

Thank you for the reply, I was hoping to only purchase one program, either Ad-Aware Pro or Helix, I like some of the features in Ad-Aware Pro so I may opt for that.
