Hi,

I'm new to the forums, I've had problems running the current adaware 2008 and now i cant uninstall, reinstall, repair or even update. I am running windows vista home premium 32bit with sp1. The error that comes up when I try to start the program is "System error 1814. Could not login to service. Are you running this application as another user? Application terminates." The error that i get when i try to uninstall the program is "error 1921. Service 'Lavasoft Adareae service'(aawservice) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services." When i try to repair "Error 1920. Service lavasoft adaware service (aawservice) failed to start. verify u have sufficient priverliges to start system services."

Does any one have any ideas what could have caused this or if you have had this problem before and how to fix it??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I also am new to these forum. Yes, I also am getting this message with a system error 1810, and cannot open AdAware2008. I have not tried to uninstall, because I do not have the installation file anymore.I am running Windows XP. See my (jamestow) post from this morning 3-16-2009.

Hi biggrin.gif
install 'Revo uninstaller'*
open Revo and locate the AAW2008 entry, click it and then push uninstall , now choose the 'advanced mode'
Revo will search for the original installer ( if the installer couldn't be found proceed with Revo).
install 'WICU'*
run WICU and delete all AAW references.
push WIN + <R> -- type 'cleanmgr' and enter -- tag 'temp. files/ temp. internet files/ recycler and fire it up.
Reboot
After that you should be able to start a 'clean' install.
