After web-update today I get "System error: 1814 has occurred: could not log in to service.
Are you running this application as another user." when I'm starting Ad-Aware.
I restarted the PC, same thing happens.
I tryed to uninstall as an administrator, then I got, "Error 1921. Sevice 'lavasoft Ad-Aware service'
(aawservice)could not be stopped. Verify that you have suffient privileges to stop system servises."
What shall I do now?
Shall I download a new Ad-Aware 2008 and try to install that over the old one?
My pc is an HP T9300 2,5Ghz 4GB with Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1 with the latest uppgrades today.
Who has an answer.

Hi biggrin.gif
download and install 'Revo uninstaller'*
download and install ' Windows Installer CleanUp Utility'*

-create a system restore point
-run Revo for uninstalling previous AAW versions in the highest mode
-run WICU and delete all AAW references
-Win + <R> -- type 'cleanmgr' -- enter -- drive C -- tag temp. files/temp. internet files/recycle bin and fire it up
-reboot
start a fresh download and install of the new AE with disabled security software during both
processes.
