Hi....
I assist friends with their HP notebook and Acer desktop, both running Vista 64bit.
They had AVG 8.x antivirus, Comodo Firewall (or Comodo Internet Security suite withOUT the antivirus component) v3.5xxxx, and Ad-Aware, updated to the Anniversary Edition. All were working FINE.
Then along came a Comodo update to their version 3.8.xxxxxx... and upon reboot, NO Internet access was possible, many applications simply would not start.
Viewing the online Comodo forums, some users were finding new conflicts with Spysweeper, and.... Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition.
Several claim UNinstalling Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition "fixes" the "problem". They can then operate their systems, and access the Internet, etc., as before the Comodo 3.8.xxxxx update.
Personally, I think UNinstalling the Comodo 3.8.xxxxx software 'fixes' the 'problem'. It's my opinion that Comodo caused the trashing of 'net access and application usage. Some favor removing Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition, blaming it... for the conflicts.
I don't.
Is Lavasoft aware of the conflict between Comodo Internet Security 3.8.xxxxx and Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition seemingly only on Vista 64bit systems?
And is there any contact with Comodo to work out your differences... or whatever?
Just wondering....
In the meantime... I've helped my friends roll-back their systems to Comodo Internet Security 3.5.xxxx and refuse -program- updates for it, for the time being. 'Signature' updates are ok.
(I would also take this opportunity to caution against creating a Lavasoft 'suite'. Vendors create single purpose applications which work really well... then like Norton and McAfee, etc... they bundle things with it, and overburden their product and users' systems. Please.... don't drop single purpose applications for 'suite' bundles only.)

Thanks for letting us know,
I've not hear of this before, but I can definitely report it for you.
What version of AE are your friends using (free/plus/pro) and do they ad-watch live! turned on or off?
Casey
EDIT: I just found your topic :
http://forums.comodo.com/empty-t35042.0.html and it seems that Comodo are working on the problem?
Casey...
We're running AA AE (free), and Comodo Internet Security (free... but withOUT installing the Antivirus module... just the firewall installed).
Friends have 64bit... I have 32bit, but I switched to ZoneAlarm free. (Ad-Watch Live is disabled.)
There are several threads going on the problem. I've probably overposted in frustration. In one post, Feb 23, 'Ronny' says they're working on it... in another thread, Feb 26, 'egemen' announces version 3.8.xxxx.477 'fixes' the problem. A customer post after that says he double checked by calling support to verify and they said on the phone that it does fix the problem... the customer tried 'the fix' and it did NOT fix the problem. Another user posted that he installed the fix, then reinstalled AA AE and 'all is good'. However, the next day, in another thread... he says it didn't work after all.
I don't know what to tell you, except that I don't see much further activity from the Comodo side... we've done an update, yesterday, and still had 'the problem'.
I guess we could try yet another fresh download... uninstall, clean, reboot, reinstall, but... after a point, it's time to stop that 'trial and error' approach, and sit back... you want to just wait, until another announcement, and, other user posts confirming... instead of incessantly fussing and hoping. I can only uninstall, reinstall so many times...
That's why I posted here... to alert you of this 'game'. And see what Lavasoft's comment would be.
We can only keep checking the forums for notice of a fix or another -new- update to try. In the meantime, run old version of Comodo... or we could cripple the conflicting feature, or... just change firewall vendors for the 64bit users.
One post says signature updates aren't valid for the older 3.5.xxxxx version anymore (but we're not running the AV component). Another post says to disable Comodo's "Defense+" feature on the new updated 3.8.....477 verson, for a 'workaround'. However, 'crippleware' isn't the answer either.
So... we wait.
I guess I'm going to try UNinstalling both... cleaning up what I can of files/folders/registry... then re-installing Comodo... then AA AE.
Just one more time... when I make it back over to friends' system.
