The first time I installed AE it displayed error. I was unable to proceed, and was most annoyed to find that my previous version had been un=installed. After a lot of trouble, I managed to re-install old version. I am now wary about installing the new update. Can anybody in authority at Lavasoft confirm that the previous problem has been fixed, and that it is now safe to install new version. I see lots of advice, but nothing ever seems to come out positive.My system runs on Windows Vista, and I have ample room to take the download. John Olrog

Could you please tell me, if you can remember, what error was produced when you tried to install?

Error 2343 was showing. I tried several sites to try and get it downloaded, all to no avail. I am not happy to try again unless I get OK that it will download OK now. By deleting the old version left me without ant system at all. A lot of my friends on line have gone over to SPYBOT.Unless I get ad=aware working OK I will follow suit. I dont want to. Hope you get this sorted 4 me.

I will try and find out what the 2343 error means - I've not heard of it before and it doesn't appear in the support documentation. When I know, I'll post back.

Thanks for prompt reply. The error 2343 is quite common on this site, and I am surprised you haven't come across it. If you look back on the forums posted by other people, we all seem to have the same error code displaying.

As no further communication from you can I assume that Lavasoft cant fix the 2343 error?

I have seen a few people with this error, but I still can't find the cause or what exactly it is trying to tell us. Did you have Ad-Aware 2007 installed previously (even before 2008)?
