excl.gif Howdy folks, I need a little assistance here. I have read a lot of NEG reports here about AdAware & I must say I don't agree. I have used this program for years & love it. Now, I must say I am having a problem with the new AE release. I can download it & install it with no problem. I can even update it with no prob. However, when I try the first scan (smart or full) she hangs up @ about 1700 files searched. The clock continues to run, but no more files are read. I have to exit the program though the icon by the pc clock. So I have removed it & gone back to 2008 release. I am using a self built PIV - socket 423 - 2.0 ghz - 256k cache, on a Abit TH7 - raid MB, W / 2.0 gig - 45 ns - dual channel - 400 mhz FSB - RDRAM, ATI Radeon 9800 Saphire Video card w / 256 mb ram, CD burner, 56x CD, 16x DVD, 1.44 3.5" floppy, 750 gb ide HD, w / Win XP Pro SP 3. I have done all the usual stuff to figure this out. i.e. Ran CHKDSK, cleaned registry, deleted junk files, defrag HD, anti-virus scan, Spyware scan with my other programs. FYI I use an old version of pestpatrol (4), Spywareblaster (4.1), Spybot S & D (1.6.2), IOLO System Mechanic (5), Winpatrol (10), as well as Hardware Doctor. If you need any other sys info let me know. Any help will be appreciated. Col. Alpha Male

Make sure that your processor is sufficiently dimensioned ,

"Make sure that your processor is sufficiently dimensioned" What do you mean by this? I never heard of this before.
