First I upgraded to adawareae free and it does not complete a scan. I removed it and will reinstall when I read that all the bugs are fixed.

I downloaded Adaware 2008 free and the tried to install it. I get an error message:
System error: 1810 has occurred. Description: Service is not online. Application terminates.

Prior I had adaware 2007 free installed and yesterday I started getting this same message with it when I tried to run the program.

How did you uninstall ad-aware 2007? did you follow the instructions given here: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=22364 ?

Yes I uninstalled it using control panel add/delete. I have also run windows cleanup and it is not there.
I just tried to download it again from LS thread http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2008/3000....html?tag=mncol but that now gets hijacked to Ad-Aware-AE.

Another unimportant question, how do you set the timezone on this forum as it is 2:20pm here but it says I made above post at 8:11pm?

Well this forum is sure a waste of time. I hope other people get as much and as good excellent help as I have gotten.

So which version of ad-aware are you using now? Ad-Aware 2008, or AE? Check to see the status of the LS service;

Start > run > type services.msc > find Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service and check the status.

N.B You can change the forum time zone by clicking My Controls > on the left click Board Settings > change the time zone.
