Bit of a misleading thread title

I suppose it could be to determine whether there was a clash with the two programs. Ask him why he wants you to remove it.
Just so you know I run mcafee and thankfully have had no problem with either it or adaware.
Although the title was sorta tounge-in-cheek, it's not at all misleading as I see it - if you ever need to use McAfee tech support to troubleshoot a problem with their software where one of my two systems auto-updates pattern files and modules as needed and the other just stopped. Both were running Ad-Aware 2008 and McAfee VirusScan Plus, same OS, essentially identical hardware and loaded apps, etc.... I just thought that you (and others) would want/need to know that McAfee's tech support people insist on removing Ad_Aware before they'll continue talking to you. And wondering why I got that response....
I did ask, and got the standard answers you'd expect from a barely-English-speaking 'tech' reading his 'expert' troubleshooting program's screen. He claimed that with Ad-Aware loaded on the system McAfee wouldn't update - which was obviously not true on one system - and hadn't been on the other. When I pointed that out, his 'expert' system evidently wasn't able to handle it and we stalemated with me insisting he continue troubleshooting and him refusing. And for the record, I've been running Ad-Aware 2008 for almost a year along with McAfee VirusScan Plus on both systems with no apparent conflicts.
