whoops
After installing AE, when I boot my computer I always get a Dial Up Connection Box, which contains the AE logo. I need to click cancel to get rid of the box. I'm using XP home ed.
Anyone else experience this?

It seems as though ad-aware is trying to update at computer start up.

Try the following:

Ad-Aware > Settings > click "Do not automatically..." for both options in the update settings

Thanks for the reply. This was the first thing that I tried. Problem persists. Any other ideas? I looked at msconfig/startup items, but didn't see anything that I thought it might be.

OK,

Try disabling ad-watch at start up. Then we can try and narrow down what is causing this.

There is another issue that needs to be addressed that may be related to your problem: Regardless of how you configure the automatic updates settings, they are forced upon you. When Ad-Aware starts, it places an entry in the Scheduled Tasks folder. If you remove the entry, it is replaced the next time Ad-Aware starts. I will start a topic on this issue.

I couldn't figure out how to disable ad-watch at start up. What is the procedure?

Hi,

The update issue is hopefully going to be fixed, so I will hold off giving any further instructions.
