I'm just taking a minute to tell the Ad-aware folks just how impressed I am with their new version. The interface is just beautiful. I never thought that would matter one bit but it is very nice and it's elegant. Everything is so well thought out and is a pleasure to use. So far at least, everything works great and changes were made in all the best places. Thanks for all your good work.

Perhaps this is more like a second impression but I am very unhappy about the transparent areas of some of the windows as I have already fallen foul of these. The lack of solid background makes it difficult to determine which part of the process you are in. In my case I blocked a necessary but very old piece of software when I thought I was still working on another application over which the extremely feint Ad Aware have been overlaid.

Also my first full scan was not recorded in the Scan System status making it appear that I had not made the checks. The second Smart scan has been recorded.

The deletion of cookies this morning too much longer than previous editions making me think I had failed to click the action box.

I guess you don't use Vista then? Or maybe more specifically Aero glass?

I like the new AE very much smile.gif But If I could wish something it should be a faster scan though.

This new version works for me. Ad-aware has always had an attractive interface but now its a real looker. I had actually uninstalled my previous paid version. The scans would hang almost always, and Adwatch drove me nuts with alerts, sometimes 20 - 45 or so alerts at a time. The new kinder, gentler Adwatch is super. I love the way it fades out after a single alert. Very nice. I'm not someone who's concerned with scan time (1 hr. 45min. full scan), as long as it is a quality, thorough scan. I start it going and leave. I am surprised that faster scan times are listed as a feature of AE. It makes me think there may be some tweaking yet to be done. Otherwise, I'm glad to have Ad-aware on my computer again. XPsp3. P4.

SSSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOWWWW on the scans!!!!!!
This PC is an old machine using the 2000 op system and have yet to be able to complete a full scan. I left the full scan up and running for over 6 HOURS last night and it still never finished the scan. It took the last version all of about 20 minuits to do a full scan. I hate this version!!!

Two question:- Size of hardrive?

And are you running a background scan or not? (do you have AAW maximised or minimised?)

60M and running the old Windows 2000 op system. Smart scan took 25:26 and scanned 21008 files. Full scan would not complete in the 6+ hours I had it running for and that was with AAW in the front and maximized.

May i enquire as to what your pc specs are?
