Hi biggrin.gif
install 'Revo Uninstaller' ( link in my sign.)
back up your system
run Revo in the highest mode
let Revo uninstall all all AAW versions
probably Revo will search for the original uninstaller and won't find it
if so
proceed with Revo

Let me know if it works

Hi,

Exactly how does it lock up when you log in as admin?

The step I would like to suggest next requires admin permissions, so it would be good if we could get that working.

(With admin permissions if possible):

Please download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.

Remove any Lavasoft or Ad-Aware related entries.

This should allow you to install the latest version of AdAware downloaded from Lavasoft.

Uninstall the latest version of AdAware - this should remove any AAW residues from the old install from your system

If you still can't install McAffee please try running Revo again (the messing round with installers etc. we did may cause things to show up that weren't before).

If all that still doesn't work post back here and we'll try another route.

(NOTE: Revo and WICU may not not work properly without admin permissions)

Isn't 1.06 an SE version number?

In which case this thread should be moved.
