Hi CJ! My name is Tiok. I'm new at this. I just bought Lavasoft Antivirus Helix (LAH) and found out that I can not update. Attached is the picture of the error. I have the old definition file and I also have Lavasoft Personal Firewall 3.0 (great product!)

I have uninstall and reinstall LAH, but apparently it didn't solve the problem. Need big help! I really rely on this antivirus

"internal error" is different from the (now resolved) updating issue we had in this topic. I found this in the Helix FAQ page:

If that doesn't resolve the problem you are entitled to free Tech Support in our Support Center:

They can give you one-on-one assistance to resolve the problem.

I checked with the Support Team and they advise that the "Internal Error" message might be due to your firewall blocking the update.

I pulled the following info from the Help Manual, so try this and let me know if that works.

Make sure your firewall isn't blocking Updates.

Update.exe is the process that requires Internet access for updates

In fact, I pulled from the Help manual this list of processes that will need to be allowed through your firewall:

The list below contains the processes your firewall should allow:

sched.exe
avcenter.exe
avguard.exe
avgnt.exe
update.exe
avesvc.exe
avmailc.exe
avconfig.exe
preupd.exe

All these files are located in Lavasoft Anti-Virus Helix installation directory
(C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Lavasoft Antivirus Helix).
