You're most welcome and glad I could help smile.gif

I am curious about this forum item. I also have this dang Win32.TrojanPWS.Mapper and I am running a XP machine.
Am I understanding you that is is not a problem??? And that a False/Positive means the alert is indicating something is there but it is harmless?

This all depends where it is finding it.
Also, please start a new thread with your problem and don't post in someone elses thread because that makes it confusing.
Thanks smile.gif

My Ad-Aware (Plus) 2008 software keeps finding a Win32.TrojanPWS.Mapper Critical Object. If I quarantine it, I receive "An error occured" message saying "Cleaning: Unable to remove file. Suggested Action: 0. The file will be removed after you have restarted your computer."
On reboot, the quarantine exe looks like it runs and is taken care of but it continues to come back. I noticed another person on the "Unable to Delete/Quarantine Win32.Trojanpws.Mapper, Can't delete Win32.Trojanpws.Mapper" forum who was having the same type of problem but his file location was different.

My Ad-Aware scan shows Column Family with Win32.TrojanPWS.Mapper and a category Spyware.
The file locoation shows as C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\522820D0.exe (adware)

I have searched on the internet but have not really found anything on this. I have not even been able to learn what it is or does, or how to get rid of it. sad.gif

I hope this is the correct forum. If not, please let me know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Wineguy,

I've moved your posts to your own new topic here so we can keep up with you smile.gif

Your Norton AV has already quarantined this file (look at the location)

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\522820D0.exe

It cannot run from there but it is also protected by Norton so that is why Ad-Aware can't remove it. Your computer is safe. To get rid of the file, empty your Norton Quarantined files smile.gif
