I have a problem running Ad-Aware 2008 (free version). I think a virus is perhaps attacking the programme.

Whwn I ran the programme, it firstly did not allow me to obtain an update. A window popped up saying that no connection could be established, although definately no problem connecting to the web. When I ran the programme, it was very unstable, particularly when doing another operation. It came back as no infections (I eventually let it run without doing any other operations at the same time)- this is very rare. i ran spybot, which did find some infections. Usually Ad aware finds more.

I then decided to disinstall the Ad Aware programme, and download another copy. This is where it gets very interesting. Part way through the download, it seems to interupt the install, and I end up with only part of the .exe propgramme - something like 5 to 9 mb of it, rather than the full 22.7mb. I have tried this several times - all to no avail.
