I also am having the same problem as many others, which is not being able to uninstall the 2007 free version. I am running vista home premium.
I performed steps 1 & 2 in the “Newly discovered bug in Ad-Aware 2007”thread, but I am unable to delete the folder as it says I do not have sufficient privileges.
After performing this I downloaded the 2008 free version, but I am unable to finish the installation process.
I get the “Error 1920: aawservice failed to start”. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I switched from IE7 to Firefox after the security issue, but I did download and install the patch from Microsoft.
