I have very few files in my Ad-Aware folder compared to older versions. When tring to launch AdWatch it gives a fatal error.

Hi, if you have AdWatch then you presumable own a Plus/Pro licence for AdAware?

I got Pro. My friend bought the licenese and installed it for me. I just need to get it fixed! Can anyone help me?

My gut reaction is that something is wrong with your install, however you should be receiving support from the support centre. Was it a download or store bought copy your friend purchased you?

Download. He even tried reinstalling it for me. Same thing. I'm using Vista Home Premium

Ok, could you obtain the email address he used when purchasing/registering from him and put it into this form: https://secure.lavasoft.com/support/support...ail_address.php, followed by your email address to get your password.

It certainly looks like there's something wrong though, you should have a lot more files than that. The next step that I would recommend is redownloading the programme, uninstalling your current one and then installing the freshly downloaded one in case you had a corrupt download. Provided you do not change your hardware you should be able to reactivate it using the same serial.

I got it fixed. Got a torrent of the Pro version, and entered the key he gave me. It installed correctly. Yay!

As a side note, torrents are not the proper way to download AdAware, to ensure the integrity of your file please always download it ONLY from the official Lavasoft site or affiliated locations (e.g. download.com). Downloading from ANY other source could compromise the security of your computer.
