aawservice.exe freezes during startup taking up 30% of cpu resources so i know when it happens. have uninstalled and reinstalled but it still does it. I set the process to manual instead of automatic but I have never had a problem with it...could it be a software issue?
do you have any other security software installed which could be preventing the service from running at start-up?

no i dont have any other software....no antivirus or anything
