infection supposedly removed by competitive product
at least pop-ups ceased.
infection removed ad-aware 2008 installed 3 months ago
install of Ad-Aware 2008 will not complete
Gets 1920 error after 30 second wait at end
went to FAQ and followed directions - no luck
tried install in safe mode - no luck
Reinstalled XP-Pro - no luck

associated symptom is that USB external disk drives will not start either
disk drives work fine on other PCs

If you formatted your hard drive and reinstalled xp pro, then something else is infected. Like your usb drive or a mouse and devices like that. You need to go to the Hijack this forums for help with infections that can not be deleted by adaware.
