How large are these update files???
In previous versions I could D/L the update files within about 30 seconds even with my 56K connection.
With AdAware 2008 (free version), it now takes about 45 minutes to d/l each definition update.
My connection is good and is downloading at the fastest rate that my 56k connection will allow.
It seems that I am downloading the entire program each time instead of just the latest definition files.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Ed

Hi

plz try a manual update from
here.
Unzip the defs to Documents and Settings/All Users(Username)/Application Data/Lavasoft/Ad-Aware.

Raziel,
I went to "http://www.lavasoft.com/support/securitycenter/blog/" as you suggested but could not locate a definitions file to download. I understand to unzip the file and place in the location you said... but where is the file to download?
The page says "0138.0000 is now available, new definition file for Ad-Aware 2008", but doesn't say where the file is or how to get to it.

Well, I found the compressed (zip) file to download manually. But the file is 13 MB in size.
Why in the world is a files definition "update" file so large. Why don't they just download the latest additions instead of the whole cotton picking file.
13 MB takes 40 minutes to download on my 56K connection. That's ridiculous. Definitions file updates used to take about a minute in the older versions.
Guess I'll have to find some other company's product to use.
