Hi

Windows XP pro SP3 trend micro security 2009

I wonder if you can assist me, today I install adware 2008 (free version), I uninstall some files which were cookies using adware I did not want to, so I remove adware and used system restore to go back to yesterday and remove eveything and had no issues.

However on restart between the windows xp splash loading screen, and XP going to the welcome slash screen a screen appeared saying "lsdelete cannot find program cannot autocheck",Windoes continues to load correctly.

I wonder if you can suggect anything I have a feeling it has to do with microsoft window search v4.0 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/desktopsearch/choose/windowssearch4.mspx?tab=Install%20It).So I reinstalled adware and the issue is removed??????. and lsdelete.exe can be found in c:\windows\system32.

I hope you can assist me, if everyhting is OK and you fell its best to just leave adware in computer that would be ok

Thanks for your response, after reading the web page at ms, "use at own risk and can effect other programs", I decided to use the add/remove to see if same effect as yesterday and same result. So I have reinstalled adware and issue disappears, which is not an issue on having program on computer maybe use some times.
Just to advise lsdelete.exe is removed from system32 when the adware program is uninstalled, so on restart some program is looking for it as I suggest above windows search 4.0 I think win search indexs all program.exe which are installed after it, just maybe if you could install and see result.

I found the workaround was to take a copy of lsdelete.exe and remove all the software, now replace the lsdelete back in window/system32 folder and the error goes away, have also found the place in the regedit where the problem is occurring and took a snapshot, maybe you could advise how remove if possible the line bootup which is asking for autocheck the lsdelete.

Thanks in advance for any assistance
