Hi guys,

I hope someone can help me out here.

I have tried:
1) Reinstalling ad-aware 2007 ( didn't install at all, it keep telling me to uninstall the older version).
2) Installing 2008 over 2007 (same as above).
3) Repair 2007 (failed)
4) Using Revo ( error 1402).
5) Right click on the folder and run as admin (didnt have any effect).
6) Using CCleaner (error 1402)
7) Using Vista Uninstall (error 1402)

Is there any other things that I have not done?

Would really appreciate any help.
Thank you.

Hi,

Hmm... you seemed to have tried everything we normally find works, so maybe try stopping the ad-aware service via:

Start > type in ribbon services then enter > find Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service and click stop.

Then try and use Revo on it's highest setting.

Let me know how you get on,

Casey

Hi Casey,
Thank you for your reply.
I've tried doing the things you have advised, still no luck.
I have stopped the Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service.
The Revo in advance level will go all the way to step 3 and then the dreaded error 1402 will pop out...again.

I am running on VISTA home
Here's the full error message:

Error 1402. Could not open key:
Unknown\Installer\Products\BOB35DEDC76B4424EAA66DDFC3821DFE\
SourceList\Media. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personel.

I have try going into registry and set ownership of this folder BOB35DEDC76B4424EAA66DDFC3821DFE to admin, but still I get the same error.

Thank you guys for all your help, problem solved.

Apparently in Revo, when the uninstallation fails it will ask you to click next to go into the registry cleaner.
I skip that because I did not want to mess up the machine. But I've try that last night and it completely clear Lavasoft in my computer.
What a relief.

Thanks again. happy.gif
