hi my name is nekki and i have an older computer. it doesn't like ad aware 07 or newer. it causes my system to slow down to a crawl. i loved version 6 alot but i can't seem to update the ref list.. is there any at all referance support for the old version?

I successfully downloaded the new definitions file but for some reason Ad-aware will not recognize it. Hidden files and folders are viewable

This may sound stupid but did you unzip the downloaded file. The zip file contains the aaw.def file you require.

Good question. I run AAW 2008 Pro so have lost a bit of touch with the SE version. I can't understand why it will not replace the old def file. Maybe it is a read only file???? If so, go to properties of that files and set read only OFF. Just make sure that AAW SE is not running as that will cause the same problem. Post back if you still have problems.
