While this update was performing, the firewall gave alert about changing a file size, it had a block to check do not show this message again, I just hit the X button on the right top, then got the alert again, so I checked the box at the bottom left.

So now I was unsure if I got the entire XP3 updates, so i went to the update center had it do its check & had to download something else, isn't there somewhere to allow microsoft updates? I never had this before other than with the XP3 upgrade or update.

Now I wonder what if something else other than MS is trying to get to a file, did i screw this up

Microsoft does recommend that you turn off security software when updating for this reason.

So; turn of the firewall and run win update again. if it wants to download anything then let it. install the updates and then turn the firewall back on. restart your computer.
