Hi,

I have been trying to update my Ad Aware. When I go to the web update, it tells me there are updates to down load and begins to download many files. When it gets to the file antivir0vdf then the attempts fails.

Do you have a firewall that may be blocking the download?

I have Zone Alarm and I have given full permission to all the Lavasoft programs. I don''t think that is my problem 'cause I get part of the file but it never finishes. Like this /public/aaw2008/antivir0vdf 32 of 36 33% then quits. Once I got to 45%

I tried completely shutting off my fire wall but that didn't help either.

I had a trial offer for plus or pro, don't remember, and that has expired so now its a free one.

I'd recommend uninstalling ad-aware with Revo. choose the option to scan for left over files and registry keys. then install the free version. this will ensure a clean install. you should be able to update then.

the reason I think this is because the update antivir0 is only for pro/plus versions and not for free, so obviously the program is "getting confused" because of the trial.

OK, I down loaded and installed Revo and used it to uninstall Adaware.

It may be a while before I can get Adaware downloaded my line is a bit slow and it is 18 MB.

I'll let you know what happens.
