I have the paid version. It has been doing this to me for months. Lavasoft has not replied in that time so I sent off ANOTHER complaint to them explaining the problem and the fact that the ONLY reason I bought this product was to do custom scans!


I have unchecked ALL options and tried to do JUST a folder based scan...even that causes the software to HANG. Garbage, utter garbage. The old version worked fine, but this new one is ###


I have Windows Vista Ultimate X64 with 8GB of RAM. I'm not sure what else would help people figure out what is causing this problem. I didn't have much software installed when I installed AdAware. I definitely didn't have any spyware because I use this system offline for the most part and use it to scan my other computers harddrives with the drives disconnected.

I am using a USB Bytecc cable to attach the external drives via USB.
