I have just installed and upgraded to 2008 free user.
I have 4 computers and two work with update ok.
The other two installed ok but when I run a scan it nevers sees the scanner or never goes beyond step 1 to srep 2. After about 2 mins it says scan complete but no files where scanned??
All my computers use XP.
I want to get 5 users pack for the work but I am afraid to do this until I get this problem fixed
Can you help. Keep in mine I am not a great computer pronblem solver. ?? Thanks

Is there any security software installed on the two that aren't working which is not on the two that are?

Also, try this:

. Uninstall 2008
. Download Microsoft's Windows Clean up utility from here.
. Install and run, remove any traces of Ad-Aware 2007/2008
. Install 2008

Hello Casey,
Well I did download the Clean up and ran. There however, was no showing that adware was still installed.
I had removed it just before. So I rebooted and downloaded 2008 again.
However same problem. Loads fine but when I run the program it starts with step one and then it is suppose to see the path for scanning but it never does.
I am using Norton antivirus on this machine but also have it on the others that work.
The 2007 program had worked ok. I shut down the windows Xp firewall and tried a scan but still no go.
So I am looking for more help.
