I am using the free version of Lavasoft 2008 with Win XP. I am unable to access the updated definitions file. I click on Update and receive the message that an error has occurred. It reads Update - No connection to download server and Suggested Action - Check internet connection. I have tried several times each day since 7/22/08 with no luck. I have had this problem in the past as well with no resolution and then on 7/22 the software did download the update. Since then no luck.

In addition, I tried to update the file manually by going www.lavasoft.com and clicking on the link for security center and selecting the definition file updates and downloading it there. The following the following instructions I found at the Lavasoft website :
You can also manually download and update the definitions file.
1. Download from http://download.lavasoft.com/public/core.zip
2. Extract the file (core.aawdef) directly to the Ad-Aware folder, either:
o C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware (for Ad-Aware 2008)
o C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007
3. Close and restart Ad-Aware.

The software still states that the definitions file has not been updated since 7/22/08.

I also went to majorgeeks.com and found that they have the updates for the definitions files there and followed their instructions were are:
You can manually update the Detection Database with the latest Definitions File by following the steps below:
- Close Ad-Aware 2008.
-Download the latest Definitions File in a ZIP file.
- Save the file to a temporary location.
- When complete, unzip the contents of the file to the installation directory of Ad-Aware 2008, which is usually C:\documents and settings\All Users\application data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2008
- Open Ad-Aware 2008. You can confirm the latest Definitions File is installed by looking at 'Update Status' on Ad-Aware 2008's main status screen.

However, the main status screen still states that the definition files are still outdated.

Any suggestions would be Greatly Appreciated.

TIA
